ECAL/Alessi Office Objects

During last April’s Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne presented a student design exhibition at the Alessi space on Via Manzoni showcasing a collection of desk and office objects. While I didn’t see the products in person, from these photos the second-year student work (led by the industrial design department head Elric Petit) certainly looks like something of the quality that I would find in an Alessi catalog. While there are no current plans to put the items into production, I would be very surprised if this was the last time we see some of them. Either way, best of luck to the students, who have had great exposure on an international scale, and serious pieces for their portfolios.
