In May, the Minneapolis-based design collaborative Blu Dot added its first collection of rugs to the company’s line of modern furnishings. Cush and Dash are both made of New Zealand wool with a cotton canvas backing; Cush is twisted to create a thick, pillowy shag and Dash has the texture of a chunky braid. Last Newspaper, made of recycled newspaper wrapped in cotton, gives me one more reason to hope that print news survives.
Both Cush and Dash come in 6’x9′, 9’x9′, and 9’x12′ sizes; Last Newspaper in 4’x6′, 6’x9′, and 9’x9′ sizes. Prices range from $999 to $1799 for Cush, $749 to $1499 for Dash, and $149 to $399 for Last Newspaper.
