Clicq’Up Foldable Champagne Bucket

Launched during last April’s Milan Design Week, Clicq’Up unfolds from a flat rectangle into a self supporting, waterproof ice bucket for your next picnic, impromptu marriage proposal, all night stake out, or any occasion where you want to keep your champagne cold without having to lug a bucket around with you. Designed by Belgian designer Mathias van de Walle for Veuve Clicquot, the bucket can be reused 3-4 times, as it folds flat again after use. The other night I gave it a test using a bottle of white wine, and I was impressed how solidly the bottom and sides snapped in place to support the bottle. After it was dry, it easily refolded back to it’s original shape to be used again (and to be clear, I am not mechanically inclined.) If you don’t find yourself needing a foldable champagne bucket on a regular basis you could find endless other uses for the bucket; for example in the car as an emergency car sickness container (too much champagne?) that tucks right into the pocket of the seat. Clicq’Up will be available from Veuve Clicquot in the fall.

    • Emily,

According to a representative of Veuve Clicquot, these will probably be available in 2012. I can post an update if I hear anything. I do have one to give away however… make sure to “like” my facebook page and I’ll be announcing a contest for one on there soon. Thanks for reading!

Thank you so much for the information and the response. Officially “liked” on facebook!

    • Andrew- thanks for entering! It’s made of coated paper with a clear plastic lining. The company says “at least” 3 or 4 times, so I think you could get more use of it if you are careful. Good luck!
