AlessiLux LED

I am noticing a trend in incredibly designed LED lightbulbs. Shipping this month, Foreverlamp AlessiLux is a new line of energy-efficient LED bulbs, tabletop lamps, and luminaires from Eindhoven–based Foreverlamp Europe and Crusinallo–based Alessi with forms inspired by flames, drums, and even robots. My favorite is “Ricordo” by Frederic Gooris (above), a modern tribute to the obsolete, but not forgotten, oil lamp (Giovanni Alessi Anghini and Gabriele Chiave also designed pieces in the collection). Unfortunately for us in North America, the lamps are currently only shipping to EU Member states (table lamps are approximately 50 Euros, and the bulbs approximately 35 Euros.)
